Join us as a Technical Delivery Manager, where you will play an important role in supporting a collaborative engineering function that delivers secure, resilient, and scalable technology solutions across our bank. You’ll be part of a growing engineering organisation that is creating new products, improving existing services, and expanding its delivery capability to meet the needs of our customers and colleagues. In this role, you will guide the end‑to‑end technical delivery for a scrum team. You’ll help the team adopt clear, reliable, and sustainable delivery practices, enabling steady progress and high‑quality work in a supportive and adaptable environment. You’ll also play a key part in encouraging a shared understanding of priorities, removing blockers, and helping the team maintain focus on outcomes that matter.

Acting as a Scrum Facilitator, you will nurture effective agile practices, coordinate core activities, and create the conditions for a healthy and productive team rhythm. You’ll work closely with product owners, engineering partners, and a range of stakeholders to support planning, alignment, and smooth delivery across the development lifecycle. As part of this, you’ll help ensure work is transparent, well understood, and aligned to wider delivery goals, while also contributing to thoughtful governance and operational quality.

To be successful as a Technical Delivery Manager, you will bring experience in:


  • A consistent experience technical delivery within engineering environments, with a helpful understanding of the development lifecycle, infrastructure (Linux, Windows, Networks), and technical implementation.
  • Agile delivery, bringing an in‑depth understanding of Scrum practices and helping a multi‑disciplinary engineering team through core agile ceremonies.
  • Extensive experience coordinating technology‑focused projects or programmes, including end‑to‑end planning, collaboration, risk awareness, and delivery across broad‑scope engineering or product development work.
  • Communicating effectively and building productive partnerships with senior stakeholders, product owners, and global engineering teams.

Some other highly valued skills may include:


  • Experience working in hybrid delivery environments (scrum/waterfall) or supporting agile transformation activities.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, particularly CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows.
  • Agile or project‑related qualifications (e.g., AgilePM, PMBOK).
  • Experience coordinating delivery across multiple workstreams or within growing engineering teams.

This role will be based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
