In a role in Product Development & Management, you'll oversee our entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities include gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining product vision, and ensuring successful delivery and ongoing performance.

Join us an Alternative Fund Structurer you'll operate as a key member of a dedicated structuring team, with specific responsibility for structuring Private Markets single asset closed ended feeder funds and fund of fund products, appropriate for the target market client base of Barclays clients.

You will be required to work closely with Private Markets Origination, Distribution and Life Cycle Management subject matter experts to understand the proposition, target market and pre and post launch requirements. Oversee and manage the creation of appropriate legal vehicles to manage Private Markets products. Ensure required due diligence is undertaken, socialised and assessed where required by relevant internal stakeholders. Oversee the end to end structing process to ensure completion within time frames by all impacted parties and stakeholders. Develop a detailed understanding of Private Markets products already launched.

To be successful as an Alternative Fund Structurer you'll have:

  • Experience of bringing Alternative Investments opportunities to private clients/private banking clients
  • Experience of fund structures and offering documentation.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle events, such as capital calls and distributions.
  • Strong academic background holding relevant technical and/or professional qualifications.
  • Confident and articulate communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple stakeholders to deliver against tight timeframes.

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience of fiduciary requirements for different types of client in a UK-based global private bank.
  • Networked within the Private Markets structuring industry.
  • Finance or Legal professional qualifications.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Purpose of the role

To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
  • Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
  • Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.  .
  • Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
  • Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
  • Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
