Join Relationship Management, to build and maintain relationships with customers, clients, stakeholders, and strategic partners. Your focus will be on driving business growth through effective relationship-building and delivering tailored solutions to meet client needs.

Join us as a Business Development Manager at Barclays where you will drive growth in acquisition for the Barclays International Banking client base through the following key areas:

- Building and Deepening Corporate Relationships with Key Business Introducers as well as multi-national companies

- Proactive reach out to Corporates whose employees have a requirement for Barclays International Banking. Development of a KBI network that can introduce prospects eligible for Barclays International Banking services

- Building and Deepening relationships and referrals internally within the Barclays network

- Developing business plans with colleagues across the matrix including wealth, Corporate and Investment bank, Private bank, Providing coaching and support as necessary. Leading engagement across all internal Barclays segments

- Marketing

- Working closely with our Marketing teams to ensure that digital communications are optimised for the client base and where required local events are organised and fully attended. Full usage of all available data and insight.

To be successful as a Business Development Manager, you should have experience with

            - working within the International/Offshore Banking environment and a good understanding of the competitive environment and equivalent propositions

            - client facing role

            - analytical and strong stakeholder management stills, experience of working across a matrix to deliver

            - origination / business development / client targeting 

            - creating business plans with concrete final targets and delivering against these on a consistent basis

            - developing new relationships from cold / a standing-start            

Some other highly valued skills may include

            - Previous experience leading client pitches

Role is based in London.

Purpose of the role
To identify and capitalise on business opportunities, expansion of the customer base, relationship management, and driving of revenue growth.  

Accountabilities
· Execution of market research and analysis to support the identification of potential opportunities, market trends, and customer needs, to develop strategies for business growth.
· Identification of leads through various channels such as networking, referrals, cold calling, and attending industry events.
· Management of existing client relationships to understand their needs and identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling banking products and services.
· Development and execution of strategies to acquire new business and expand the customer base, including preparation of proposals, presentations, and negotiation of contracts.
· Collaboration with product managers, credit analysts, product specialists, operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to clients.
· Forecasting of sales targets and tracking progress against goals, including regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and sales performance to management.
· Contribution to the development of business development strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.

· Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
· Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
· Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
· Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
· Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
· Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
· Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
· Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
