Change leads and oversees transformational change initiatives at Barclays. Your role will involve managing projects and programs that drive strategic improvements and ensure successful implementation of change across the organization.
  • Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership and oversight across the full data transformation lifecycle, ensuring data design, sourcing, hydration, and use‑case execution remain aligned to Group Control priorities.
  • Own and drive a coordinated view of EDP roadmap dependencies across business units, control pillars, technology partners, and platform teams.
  • Ensure that EDP use cases, including those leveraging platforms such as Databricks, are clearly defined, sequenced, and supported with the right data artefacts and design decisions.
  • Lead engagement between Group Control Data and Analytics, Data Product Owners, Data Designers, and cross‑functional partners to ensure data designs meet agreed standards and can be delivered efficiently through technology teams.
  • Maintain clear separation of responsibilities by ensuring this role focuses on data design, EDP alignment, and transformation oversight, while technology engineering teams remain accountable for technical delivery and build.
  • Provide steer and challenge to ensure data‑related risks, dependencies, and design decisions are surfaced early and resolved through appropriate governance forums.
  • Skills & Experience 
  • Proven experience in large-scale delivery and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Strong programme and project management skills, including governance and risk management. 
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at senior executive level. 
  • An understanding of data platforms, data product lifecycle, and agile delivery methodologies. 
  • Ability to manage complex inter-dependencies across multiple business units and technology teams. 
  • Leadership experience in building and developing high-performing teams. 
  • An understanding of data product development, especially within Financial or Economic Crime would be desirable. 

Purpose of the Role 

Lead and coordinate the delivery of the end‑to‑end data transformation agenda across Group Control Data and Analytics, ensuring that data products, EDP use cases, and wider data‑design requirements are executed effectively and in alignment with enterprise data strategy. The role focuses on managing EDP roadmap dependencies, cross‑functional alignment, stakeholder engagement, and data‑design delivery—distinct from, and complementary to, technology build and engineering delivery. 

Director Expectations 

Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function wide strategic initiatives. 

Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function. 

Escalate breaches of policies / procedure appropriately. 

Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence. 

Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate. 

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives. 

Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives. 

Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations. 

Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area. 

Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally. 

Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions. 

Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
