In the Research team, you'll drive the efficiency and advancement of research processes, generating valuable insights that optimise research outcomes for Barclays. Your work will support the organisation in making informed decisions and staying ahead in the industry.

Join us as an analyst in our Product Management Group (PMG) team. You will support the team in delivering timely, accurate and well-coordinated product, pipeline and market-related outputs. The role is suited to an analytical and detail-oriented individual who can manage repeatable processes with consistency, while also showing initiative in improving workflows, supporting internal stakeholders and contributing to broader team projects. The analyst will work across daily, weekly and ad hoc activities that help the PMG team run efficiently and respond effectively to business and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and and produce several daily, weekly, periodic reports and trackers, ensuring updates are shared accurately and on time.

• Develop, run and refine screening processes for results previews, including identifying instances where forecasts are above or below consensus ahead of reporting periods.

• Prepare daily press summaries and note links to support efficient information flow across the team.

• Contribute to weekly planning materials, including week-ahead preparation and regular PMG reporting tasks.

• Assist with internal coordination activities such as diary management, meeting setup and team call support where required.

• Support recurring reconciliations, dashboard production and readership or usage reporting for key PMG products and processes.

• Follow up with analysts and stakeholders to support tactical playbooks, round-ups and other coordinated team deliverables.

• Monitor research notes and market content to help consolidate relevant global and FICC-related insights for the wider team.

• Contribute to ad hoc projects, including building, updating, and improving dashboards and other team management tools, including ad hoc tasks and new areas as they develop.

• Demonstrated willingness to leverage AI tools and techniques to improve processes and enhance workflow efficiency.

Skills and Experience

• Strong interest in financial markets and the ability to understand market-related information and research outputs.

• Experience managing process-driven tasks with a high degree of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.

• Comfort working with trackers, dashboards, reconciliations, and recurring reporting requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; Bloomberg familiarity would be advantageous.

• Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and manage multiple deliverables across daily, weekly, and monthly timelines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across analysts and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to improve processes rather than simply execute tasks, including leveraging AI tools / willingness to use AI to improve processes.

• Sound judgement, problem-solving capability, and the confidence to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

• Dependable in following established processes while showing curiosity and a willingness to take on broader responsibilities over time.

• Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders in a collaborative team environment.

• A solutions-oriented mindset with an interest in developing market knowledge and contributing beyond core administrative execution.


You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as Understanding the Global Research business and products, Producing regular and adhoc reports/analysis, Supporting Research Sales and Client Strategy.

This role will be based of Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To maximise the impact of Research across internal and external stakeholders through the co-ordination and origination of differentiated Research content, as well as the marketing and branding of Research to Clients. 

Accountabilities

  • Origination and production of topical, market-relevant content-led global analyst roadshows, Premier Events, conferences and client engagement opportunities.
  • Exploration, evaluation and execution of new formats for delivering research with an eye on commerciality.
  • Conflict of interest mitigation for the Research department by acting as a liaison between Research and other areas of the bank.
  • Facilitation of adherence to best practices and applicable regulations in the production of Research via the IPC process or other governance forums and processes.
