As a part of Procurement, you'll identify, source, and manage external resources essential for Barclays' strategic objectives. You'll explore supply market opportunities and implement resourcing strategies that deliver optimal outcomes for the organisation, stakeholders, and customers.

Join us as a BA3 – Senior Analyst at Barclays, where you will support the delivery and improvement of our Procurement Operations landscape. You will work closely with stakeholders to analyse processes, support change initiatives, and contribute to strong operational performance within a well‑governed environment.

Key purpose of the role

  • The role requires subject matter expertise on Payables process/ sub process domain to deliver and improve services and metrics continuously.

  • Require excellent verbal/ written communication skills in Japanese language (N3 or above) to deal with Japanese internal & external clients along with global support.

  • The role would require engagement with multiple teams involving Business, Procurement, Third Parties, etc., to manage day to day operational delivery and resolving issues. Delivers excellent customer service including customer satisfaction, successful month / quarter / year end closing, payment performance, adherence to SLAs & KPIs targets.

  • A part of the role is to identify and deliver process improvements. Gives professional support through monitoring process performance, identifying best practices.

Accountabilities

  • Support business areas with day‑to‑day operational activities including processing, reviewing, reporting, and issue resolution within Procurement Operations.

  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to support alignment and integration of operational processes.

  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses, and provide recommendations for operational improvements.

  • Support the development, documentation, and adherence to operational procedures and controls to mitigate risk and maintain operational effectiveness.

  • Prepare operational reports, analysis, and presentations to support reviews with senior stakeholders.

  • Monitor industry practices and internal process developments to support adoption of best practices in banking operations.

  • Participate in projects and change initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, quality, and control environment.

  • Support resolution of complex operational issues by providing analysis, insights, and recommendations to People Leaders and senior stakeholders.

Requirements / Skills needed

  • Require excellent verbal/ written communication skills in Japanese language (N3 or above)

  • Completion of a formal degree; commerce or accounting background preferred.

  • 5+ years of Experience in invoice processing, payment operations, or Procure to Pay (P2P) processes, preferably in a global or large scale organization.

  • Working knowledge of invoice processing ( preferably on Coupa) and payment practices.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, MS Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience supporting global systems, platforms, or process change initiatives.

  • Understanding of Procurement and Strategic Procurement processes and sourcing applications.

  • Exposure to program, system, or change management activities.

  • Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic and structured approach to problem resolution.

  • Ability to build effective working relationships across teams and functions.

  • Self motivated, able to work on a broad brief with minimal supervision.

  • Able to identify improvement opportunities and introduce these into the immediate work area and also across the wider team

Desirable Skills / Good to Have

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder and senior management interactions.

  • Ability to identify risks, issues, and control gaps and escalate appropriately.

  • Experience supporting governance, audit, or control related activities.

  • Exposure to stakeholder management across Procurement, Finance, and Operations.

  • Experience in supporting continuous improvement initiatives within operational environments.

Purpose of the role

To monitor existing Barclays supplier relationships and operations to mitigate risk to the Bank and our customers.

Accountabilities

  • Management of existing Barclays suppliers relationships by developing Management Information (MI) that meets the needs of the bank and complies with quality and control standards.
  • Development of service level agreements to guide service delivery aligned to time efficiency and support the monitoring of service performance.
  • Collaboration with various stakeholder groups to align services to the clients’ needs and the banks objectives.
  • Development and execution of service improvement initiatives that improve service efficiency and competitive advantage in the marketplace.
