Change leads and oversees transformational change initiatives at Barclays. Your role will involve managing projects and programs that drive strategic improvements and ensure successful implementation of change across the organization.

Join us as a Business Analyst (AVP), where you will support strategic business and technology initiatives across the Private Banking India platform. You will drive business analysis, process optimization, regulatory change delivery, and digital transformation initiatives across Client Onboarding, Wealth Management, Broking, Portfolio Management Services (PMS), Regulatory Reporting, and Client Lifecycle Management while partnering with business, operations, compliance, and technology stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed requirement gathering workshops with business users and subject matter experts.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRD), user stories, process flows, and use cases.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement walkthroughs, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and prioritise business requirements.
  • Support project delivery from initiation through implementation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist Product Owners in backlog management and prioritisation.
  • Analyse current-state processes and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Prepare process maps, gap analyses, and target operating models.
  • Recommend automation and digitalisation opportunities.
  • Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Coordinate business validation and sign-off activities.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation and requirement traceability.
  • Ensure compliance with governance and change management standards.
  • Support audit and regulatory enquiries where required.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Experience within Banking, Wealth Management, Private Banking, or Financial Services environments.
  • Strong experience in requirements elicitation and analysis.
  • Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, and use cases.
  • Strong process mapping, gap analysis, impact assessment, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Domain expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Client Onboarding
    • KYC / AML
    • Broking & Trading
    • Wealth Management
    • Portfolio Management Services (PMS)
    • Capital Markets
    • Private Banking
    • Client Lifecycle Management
  • Knowledge of SQL and data analysis.
  • Understanding of API and system integration concepts.
  • Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, CFA, FRM, CBAP, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with Private Banking or Wealth Management platforms.
  • Experience with client onboarding systems and digital onboarding journeys.
  • Experience with broking and trading platforms.
  • Knowledge of SEBI and RBI regulatory initiatives.
  • Experience with investment products and portfolio reporting.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end projects in Agile environments.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
