As part of the Finance team, you'll help shape Barclays' financial strategy through accounting, budgeting, financial forecasting, and analysis. Your expertise will support management, cash and debt management, and insurance, driving the financial health and success of the organisation.

Become part of Barclays Vice President CMP, at Barclays we don’t just anticipate the future –we’re creating it as part of this role, the candidate will be required to embed a control functionality by building and leading the development of the output for the team. where you’ll help, the colleague to demonstrate analytical and technical skills as well as knowledge of fundamentals of retail credit risk management, particularly across impairment management.  The colleague will also need to demonstrate sound judgement in collaboration with the wider team and management.

Essential skills / basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field; experience supporting front-office areas in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience working in large financial services organisations/banks.
  • Proven ability to develop close working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and analysis skills.
  • Strong team player with strong communication and relationship-management skills.

Critical Skills:

  • Strong Allocation and Billing concepts (cost models, allocation drivers, service taxonomy).
  • Strong governance/controls mindset and audit readiness.
  • Executive communication and stakeholder storytelling.
  • Commercial/vendor awareness (contracts, run vs change, unit economics).
  • Advanced data skills (data quality, SQL/Power BI/Alteryx or similar)
  • Change leadership and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to lead Transformation initiatives.
  • Understand the details of BAU process.
  • Strong people management and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally; stakeholder management and leadership.
  • Strong controls/governance mindset (especially around month-end cycles)
  • Data-oriented decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Experience in technology and/or finance transformation; enterprise change/process improvement.

Desirable / preferred:

  • Proactive self-starter; works with self-initiative.
  • High attention to detail; prioritisation; delivers to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to navigate finance tools (e.g., SAP, CAP, BCE).
  • Familiarity with BX allocation methodologies.
  • Strong experience with Apptio / or PAPM and CMP initiatives in last 2 years.

    You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

    This role will be based out of Noida/Gurugram.

    Purpose of the role

    To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.  

    Accountabilities

    • Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.
    • Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.  .
    • Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders.
    • Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.
    • Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.
    • Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.

    Vice President Expectations

    • To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures..
    • If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements..

    • OR for an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
    • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
    • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
    • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
    • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
    • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
    • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
    • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
    • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
