Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

The Security Engineering and Technology Services Assurance toolset team provides internal facing application support and service enhancements for a diverse set of tools that provide security assurance capabilities within Barclays. These tools are used across the bank by infrastructure and security teams to ensure the Banks security posture meets both internal and regulatory standards. The role is to provide application support for the services we operate. The candidate will need to ensure that our services are operating at their optimum by building out and maintaining resilience, upgrading and patching, configuring systems and working with customers to meet their requirements. The candidate will also need to communicate and work with internal customers at different levels within the Bank including senior management.

Primary Responsibilities:
•    Individual Contributor Data Engineer role to support, maintain and develop Data Engineering projects especially on GMR reporting.
•     Work with global teams to provide consistent processes and solutions. 
•    Data Integration with various sources like On Premises and Cloud based products
•    Creating and maintaining data models for effective reporting for bank
•    Competency to lead technical and strategic conversations with respect to IAM Management to support CSO management information
•    Can advise partners on complex technical deployments and guidance navigating through IAM Management technologies products and features I.e. Movers, Leaver, Recert, SOD, Dormany, and Privilaged Access Management.
•    Compliance and Audit reporting to support cyber security  
•    Understanding of operating system, account and application security with the goal of consulting with security operation teams to make the bank compliant.

What will you be doing?

Key Accountabilities – Technical (65%)

•    Accountable for devising and designing data ingestion patterns based on various factors such as type of source system, data type, use cases, etc.
•    Responsible for liaising with Portfolio design lead and/or architecture teams to agree upon the designed ingestion patterns that can be leveraged by data engineers and analysts
•    Prepare technical designs, service catalogues and present them for review in project forums 
•    Hands-on/technical experience with high proficiency on SQL, and toolsets
•    Hands-on/technical experience of data ingestion concepts including object orientated programming, functional programming, , database, operating systems, networks, data structures, distributed computing
•    Maintain traceability of requirements and be accountable for the solution through all phases of project lifecycle (design, build testing through into live implementation)
•    Ensure deliverables comply to Barclays standards and policies (for Security, Data privacy, Accessibility) 
•    Design for Non-functional requirements ensuring impacts on Infrastructure are highlighted. 
•    Participate in the resolution of Production issues collaborating with developers, functional designers, other technology and service management teams. 
•    Contribute in the preparation of project plan & RAID log along with ADM, other functional designers & development teams. Active participation in daily scrum. Adhere to project timelines. 
•    Solution walkthroughs with development and test team. Handhold development team in the implementation of technical solutions, if required. 
•    Ownership of defect triage & work closely with Tech Lead/developers to review code & contribute as required. 
•    Participate in education and knowledge transfer sessions with project teams and wider Barclays data community
•    Contribution in service improvement - Responsible to prepare designs & support the implementation of problems records / improvements identified by service management. 
•    Demonstrates an awareness of Barclays System architecture

What we’re looking for:

The candidate should:
•    Have a strong technical support and delivery background with recent experience in Security disciplines
•    Have a solid background in Information Security principles and controls
•    Must possess good communication skills with the ability to work with other teams globally
•    Have a desire to pick up new technologies to continuously improve the services we support.
•    Understands the requirements of governance in a large financial environment, particularly around Change Management, Risk Management, handling major and minor incidents, Disaster Recovery planning / testing and meeting requirements of rigorous Audit mandates
•    Ability to think architecturally at ‘big picture’ and able to translate this into practical security implementation
•    Minimum education qualification-Graduate

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Profound understanding of MS SQL core concepts and technologies including
o    Rich Experience in implementing MS SSIS and Tableau report
o    Rich Experience in building database and complex queries
o    Experience in Data warehousing, ETL, Query optimization and Business Intelligence.
o    Hands on experience on Python scripts with data integration perspective
o    AWS cloud infrastructure Knowledge and REST API integration exposure 
•    Core Programming including but not limited to
o    Integration Services (SSIS), Data Modelling
o    Data Visualization tool – Tableau Desktop, Server , tableau prep and TABCMD
o    DBMS: MS - SQL Server 2014 and above
o    Job Monitor – Autosys
o    Scripting: Python, VB.net/ C#
o    Source Code System – Bit Bucket, Source Tree, GIT
o    Ticketing Tool – JIRA, Service First
•    Good understanding of IAM business and operational processes
•    A self-motivated team player who is able to define, structure and prioritize work for self as well as others, but who also has the flexibility and capability to change priorities when circumstances dictate.
•    Ability to utilise tools and techniques to quickly analyse, visualise and understand data sources
•    Experience of dealing with incident, problem and change management processes. 
•    Proven working experience of Windows and Linux operating systems.
