As a Barclays Assistant Vice President (AVP) Corporate Finance - Investment Banking, you will be supporting the Japan Banking franchise in day to day transaction execution and management, assisting in coverage of core clients together with senior staff and maintaining connectivity with the two main hubs of the US and EME Investment Banking teams. The team takes an integrated approach to client coverage, providing the client with access to bankers who have industry and geography specific expertise across all investment banking products.

What will you be doing?

  • Building effective working relationships with individuals, organizations and clients
  • Monitoring and directing Analysts, new grads and interns work schedules and assisting in their overall development
  • Working with senior sector bankers, country coverage, and M&A colleagues to generate origination leads, and contribute toward the origination and execution of deal mandates
  • Involving in project management in a multi-tasking environment
  • Assisting in deal set up, compliance checks and account opening for new clients run on in-house systems
  • Undertaking research on required sectors and prepare material for client presentations and attend client meetings, presentations, and pitches

What we’re looking for:

  • College, post-graduate degree, and/or experience at an investment bank’s Banking division or equivalent qualifications
  • Native Japanese speaker, business level English
  • Knowledge of the following products: M&A, DCM, ECM, Leveraged Finance, and Risk Management

Where will you be working?

Our office is located in the Roppongi Hills building complex, one of the largest property developments in Japan, with modern and secure offices. The surroundings are known to be highly commercial, with restaurants, shops, gyms, and places to relax.
