As a Barclays Operational Resilience Risk Manager, you will be part of the Operational Risk team within the Risk function. You will be part of the team that owns and manages Barclays’ Operational Risk Framework, which sets out how operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed across the Group. Operational Risk focuses on potential or actual impacts to the Group resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from an external event.

We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

•    Being responsible for providing specialist risk content expertise and reviewing / challenging 1st Line management on their assessment of Resilience Risk
•    Collaborating with colleagues in Operational Risk & Global Leadership Team  to execute strategic objective and plans of Operational Risk & Resilience Risk function
•    Attending  key risk and control meetings in respect to the Operational Resilience Planning risk category and Resilience theme as appropriate

What we’re looking for:
•    A good understanding and experience working with both operational risk and operational resilience including the components of an OR framework
•    Relevant regulatory requirements, and some Policy / Standard experience
•    Ability to work with autonomy and have experience of managing a number of projects / tasks concurrently to meet deadlines and stakeholder requirements
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the business, including presenting at Senior Management level

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Results driven, with focus on excellence, accuracy, and attention to detail
•    Demonstrable ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organisation and achieve positive outcomes against tight deadlines
•    Pragmatic with structured problem-solving skills to enable delivery of high-profile sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment
•    Experience of working in the financial services industry in a governance, reporting, policy, or conformance / assurance type role
