A role in Markets involves trading financial instruments, such as bonds, stocks, and derivatives. You'll also arrange capital raisings, manage debt and equity issuances, and structure, execute, and syndicate transactions for clients.

Embark on new journey at Barclays and become a member of the Prime Client Service APAC in Hong Kong, where you’ll play a pivotal role by providing global clients with a holistic, capital markets approach for financing, execution and servicing where Barclays offers unique frameworks for asset protection, margining solutions, industry intelligence and insight, analytics and execution technologies. You will be the primary client interface on business issues and operational escalations as well as responsible for control/operational risk issues associated with the servicing. You will assist with the product pitch, help track and push active client pipeline with sales. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. The required skills include experience with Prime Brokerage Services in a client facing role, excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships. Being a team-player and a self- starter who can drive business growth, as well as ability to prioritise workload and handle challenging situations will be a plus.

Regulated Role

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) or Securities and Futures Commissions (SFC) and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and cultivation of relationships with potential clients, including corporations, institutions, or government entities.
  • Market research and analysis to identify industry trends, potential deal opportunities, and client needs.
  • Collaboration with internal teams to develop pitch materials, financial models, and presentations for client meetings and transactions.
  • Structuring and execution of deals, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services.
  • Due diligence process coordination, timeline management, and liaising between various stakeholders involved in transactions.
