As a Barclays Hedge Accounting Transformation Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering solutions to the accounting specialism of Hedge Accounting, expanding the existing product offering under IAS39, considering accounting legislation in different jurisdictions whilst also considering the longer-term adoption of IFRS9 and Dynamic Risk Management. This will be executed through a hybrid of delivering extensions to the existing platform whilst ensuring the required transformation outcomes align with business requirements.

What will you be doing?
•    Being a trusted advisor to Treasury, Finance, PIO and technology colleagues regarding the Hedge Accounting Transformation programme and wider Finance business architecture strategy
•    Driving transformation outcomes for the function, through a strategic lens
•    Identifying proactively opportunities for improvement, develop the conversation and challenge the status quo
•    Narrating and championing the transformation journey
•    Providing guidance and support to Treasury transformation teams and business users across Treasury
•    Presenting and influencing key stakeholders at the Design Authority, Project Forums, and other project meetings
•    Supporting and generating specific designs for the program, facilitate design workshops and prepare topics for the programme wide design authority
•    Working closely with Programme Managers and various Business Analysts to understand business requirements and how they translate into system, data and process change

What we’re looking for:
•    A demonstrable track record of post qualification experience within a Hedge Accounting, Treasury or MTM Product Control environment, working on a variety of relevant projects
•    Knowledge of interest rate derivatives and risk drivers, with experience of Finance process, system and technologies 
•    Solid data manipulation skills including Excel and experience using data manipulation tools (e.g. Qlikview, Business Objects, Lumira, SmartView, SQL, SAS)
•    Appreciation of data principles, including data modelling and data design

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience of finance transformation programs and understanding of project management techniques and principles, process management skills and techniques (Lean, Six Sigma)
•    Degree level education and an excellent general academic track record, plus a Professional Accounting qualification is preferred
•    A continuous learning mind-set; someone who applies analytical reasoning and problem solving to all they do
•    Excellent Power-point skills, with the ability to storyboard and produce best in class presentations

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
