Overall purpose of role

The Payments Analyst is a key member of the Banking Operations Team, and will manage the settlement of incoming and outgoing payments for the clients and for the bank.

The role holder will work closely with Front Office teams and other Infrastructure colleagues on a daily basis to ensure that we provide a World Class service to our clients whilst complying with all risk and regulatory requirements.

Core accountabilities

-Preparation and booking / settlement of incoming and outgoing payments (all currencies, all means) in Avaloq.

-Participation to the team’s common tasks (mailing Swifts dispatching, scanning, etc.).

-In charge of cheques issues.

-Participation to the correct and timely processing of all invoices/cash expenses/VISA card expenses related to the bank.

-Meet governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements.

-Strong knowledge in domestic (French clearing system), International (Swift, SEPA credit transfer, SEPA Direct Debit) 

Key clients (internal and external)

Private Bankers, Managers and Private Banking Executives.

Banking Operations management, Credit Risk and local business management.

Role requirements

Academic and professional qualifications

-Bank/commercial apprenticeship or commercial school.

-Good knowledge of the Swift

-Good knowledge ofExcel, Word and Outlook.

Language skills

Good knowledge of English– minimum First Certificate - and French.

Personal attributes

-Precise & consciencious.

-High sense of responsibilities.

-Interest to learn new products.

-Flexible.

-Good team player.

Professional/technical experience

At least 1 years of working experience of which at least two in a similar position.

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
