Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

To take ownership of key deliverables within the Product Governance book of work and develop subject matter knowledge such that businesses develop a dependency and recognize the role holder as an expert and solutions driven colleague.

What will you be doing?

Product Governance
    Creation and management of the Product and Services Register utility used across Markets, Banking and BI Treasury which requires deep understanding of all business areas
    Product Governance related meeting packs (Product Governance Oversight Forum, Retail Distribution Governance Meeting, Retail Distribution Forum, Product Suitability Forums) and updates to escalation bodies (BBPLC Control Committee, Markets Execution Control Committee, BE Markets Control Forum).
    Ownership of core Markets Procedures and Guidance documents and adaptation of these following regulatory change or internal policy/standard changes
    Oversee and manage execution of Product Reviews (Annual Family Assessment and Detailed Reviews) across Markets with additional oversight on Banking and BI Treasury
    Execution of Product Governance controls requiring product specific knowledge
    Oversee onboarding and management of third party distributors
    Production and assessment of key metrics relating to fee frameworks and other post sale monitoring activities
    Issue management: create issue write-up and log the event in the centralized tool and coordinate till the issue closure of various self/audit/regulatory identified issues

Key Accountabilities
Candidate is expected to ensure:
•    Take ownership of controls and key processes
•    Escalate concerns and issues
•    Identify automation opportunities to free up time
•    Highlight process gaps timely and work on enhancement of controls and processes
•    Ensure deliverables of the team are met

What we’re looking for:

o    4-5 years’ relevant work experience in risk and control function of an Investment Bank’s Markets division
o    A risk and control mind-set with a strong understanding of Investment Banking Regulations from the perspective of operational implementation 
o    Good exposure to various products in Markets business
o    Very good attention to details and structured approach to handle activities
o    Able to support or oversee automation/programming aspects taking place within the teams
o    Comfortable with analysing data and problem solving
o    Demonstrates initiative and confidence in collaborative team work
o    Strong written and verbal communication skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

o    Candidate should have a post graduate degree in a relevant field (i.e. Finance, Management, Economics, Business, Computer Science)
o    Good understanding of the Global regulatory landscape
o    Experience in preparation of governance presentations
o    Experience in generating MI out of large set of data
o    Able to work under pressure to meet a deadline
o    An expert with time management, prioritising tasks and able to meet deadlines
o    Able to coordinate with various teams to action items
o    Detailed and meticulous; high level of accuracy with low tolerance for error 
o    Confident to escalate and articulate issues and elucidate reconciliation enhancements to senior stakeholders globally.
o    Committed and control-focused to succeed under challenging environment 
o    Able to work as part of a high performing team
o    Candidate must have knowledge of Advanced Excel, Advance Power Point and experience in Emerging Tech tools (Tableau, Python)
o    Basic understanding of Jira, UAT and project management to coordinate with technology team on market wide tech enhancements
