Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.


Introduction:

The role holder will support ER Case Management activities across  India, APAC, UK & US as a part of the stand-up of a new ER Case Management Support team based in India. They will need to have a focus on continuous improvement and continue to deliver a high quality service to the business whist simplifying process and making activities more efficient. 

What will you be doing?

The role holder will provide specialist advice and coaching to People Leaders on a variety of topics:

•    Sickness  
o    Short Term Sickness Queries
o    Non-Complex Long-Term Sickness queries
o    Occupational Health referrals to vendor & Workplace Adjustments
o    Sick Pay Extensions
o    Terminal Illness cases
o    Ill Health Retirement/Perm Disability (UK Only)
•    CAPABILITY
o    Informal Performance management prior to Performance Improvement Plan initiation
o    Performance Management for more junior level colleagues
o    Managing graduate exam failure cases

•    Disciplinary & Grievance 
o    Maintaining Accredited Manager lists
o    Advising/review low level conduct cases (cases that do not require a formal disciplinary case)
o    Review of concerns referred from internal teams such as Raising Concerns and Ecomms teams and engaging with People Leaders to address as appropriate
o    Reviewing escalations from Compliance
o    Coordination of global processes for the ER team, where collation of information across the teams is required e.g. annual compensation suspension process
o    Informal channel for employee concerns/grievances (Initial connect with colleague, desktop reviews, outcome communication to the colleague)
•    Other/Projects
o    Provision of information from ER systems for regulated references for UK & APAC
o    Work with the Career Transition Services team (internal team) to provide redeployment support to colleagues where required as a result of Occupational Health Assessment, FINRA fingerprinting requirement non-compliance, Complex Grievance cases
o    Supporting global projects for ER Case Management Teams across regions

What we’re looking for:

•    Practical generalist experience gained in an HR function advising Line Managers on a day to day basis on complex HR issues in a commercial and pragmatic way
•    Prior experience of practical case management or advisory on complex matters for a medium to large blue chip organisation. Experience managing HR matters across regions (UK, US, APAC ) would be an added advantage
•    Possess an understanding of issues affecting Employee Relations internally
•    A good understanding of current employment legislation and policy application  
•    Influencing and stakeholder management skills
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Minimum qualification is graduation.

•    Experience of working in a highly matrixed organisation 
•    Solid appreciation of the importance of recognising cultural and geographic sensitivities
•    Excellent analytical and data skills, including intermediate use of Excel
•    Using effective communication skills to ensure customers understand our message and the actions / recommendations that should be followed to resolve an issue.
•    Ability to influence stakeholders  
•    Logical decision-making, effective listening, clarity of thought and utmost professionalism
