Account Executive
Guernsey

As a Barclays Account Executive, you will have an exciting opportunity to be accountable for associated Account Executive functions as well as actively assisting an assigned Relationship Manager. You will be operating as the liaison between the Relationship Manager and internal specialist product areas. You will have joint accountability with Relationship Managers and internal colleagues for the end to end client experience, profitability and satisfaction.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?
•    Being directly accountable for a portfolio of clients in respect to their day to day banking administration requirements, across a range of products and services
•    Building and monitoring relationships with the clients, working alongside the Relationship Manager to ensure a quality service is provided at all times
•    Undertaking proactive client calls and ensuring that Relationship Managers follow up on all client leads
•    Handling incoming queries from clients and arranging client meetings as requested by the Relationship Manager, and ensuring that all actions are completed
•    Facilitating client meetings independently, where appropriate, and ensuring that Relationship Managers adhere to the relevant Client Due Diligence policy
•    Contributing towards the financial targets of the Relationship Managers
•    Ensuring that standards, both legal and regulatory, are adhered to, in order to avoid exposing the business to undue risk
•    Developing relationships with other parts of Barclays to ensure that clients have access to the best possible solution from Barclays

What we’re looking for:
•    Action oriented and organised with the ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly
•    Self-motivated, able to work on their own initiative and remain calm under pressure
•    Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills are essential to the role, as well as the ability to work as part of a team

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Logical and structured approach to achieving desired outcomes along with good written and oral communication required to communicate across all levels
•    High integrity and trust due to the sensitive nature of information handled

Where will you be working?
We have two offices in Guernsey situated in the heart of St Peter Port, the main town on this idyllic Island. The Barclays offices are surrounded by good quality shops and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful harbour with numerous sea view restaurants and bars. Barclays in Guernsey promotes its ‘Values’ and is at the forefront of everything we do with a business emphasis on our ‘Shared Growth’ agenda with colleagues volunteering to help others in the community they live. We are a dynamic, future focused organisation with employee opportunities for personal development and mobility across the Barclays Group.
