Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

•    Support by delivering the end to end financials across a Transaction Cycle /Function by working closely with FBPs, Business Managers and Project Managers supporting the Transaction Cycle /Function
•    Deliver end-to-end Finance reporting that enables management to proactively shape strategy
•    Support full set of forward looking Financial projections (MTP), Outlook, Transfers, scenario analytics & Change the Bank (CTB) portfolio analytics
•    Management of Profit Centres hierarchy and submission of Billing rules
•    Close monitoring of monthly financials at various levels and variance analysis with drafting commentaries for reviews with Senior FBPs and stakeholders 
•    Supporting cost allocation understanding and risks & opportunities management
•    High quality, consistent and standardised offering with complete ownership of the “numbers”

What will you be doing?

•    Finance Reporting & Planning
Delivery of the end to end financials across a Transaction Cycle/Function:
o    Providing the analysis to support business decisions and financial strategy for the Transaction Cycle/Function, ensuring delivery is to plan and budget, supporting the bank’s overall business strategy and cost base objectives
o    Work with FBPs, BMs, PMs and Business to deliver the monthly financials.
o    Working directly with the Cost Ledger CoE & Project CoE to understand the GL postings each month and to ensure the month end is done in a timely manner. 
o    Work with the Centres of Excellence to ensure full alignment to BX operating model
o    Provide the analysis and support the drafting of insights & commentary of current & Outlook financials (including Capacity Creation) with clear linkages to drivers (Inc. weekly, Finance surgeries & QBR)
o    Provide extensive support in managing the Monthly and Quarterly Business reviews including MI preparation and walkthrough
o    Provide analysis and insights including WF, Cost, fully loaded services costs and managed
o    Prepare any reporting requirements
o    Support the creation of the annual plan and be responsible for making updates during the regular RAF cycles including:
    Support in updating the central planning tool during the annual plan and updates to RAF
    Support in modelling of forward looking scenarios / deep dives including HLS, MTP, STP, RAF, Outlook and adhoc exercises as required (By Transaction Cycle/Function)
o    Provide information and reports to allow the business to be challenged as required where forecasts are not met
o    Have oversight of and ensure adherence / alignment to all global / local regulatory and statutory requirements
o    Ensure best in class, efficient and robust controls are adhered to at all times
•    Strategy, Insights & Leadership Support

o    Provide support to Senior FBP ensuring adherence of day to day agenda, strategic and Adhoc assignments for Transaction Cycle AEs and their Leadership Teams (Transaction Cycle delegate where appropriate) providing insights & recommendations across the financials
o    Provide reports and data to Senior FBP to support monthly updates to AEs across the group
o    Work with BMs and PMs to ensure delivery of Transaction Cycle/Function Strategy 
o    Adhoc activity to support cost related Executive level requests
o    Support in COO Business Projects e.g. COE, Cost saving initiatives etc. 
o    Support the Senior FBP by preparing reports on Risks & Opportunities & link with experts (sourcing, vendor etc.)
o    Support analysis and metrics driving the cost allocations from BX to trading entities to allow the business to understand their costs
o    Support the update to allocations through methodology changes and provide the analysis to quantify the financial impact 
•    Governance & Control
Ensure alignment of activity that ensures the Transaction Cycle or Function are compliant and aligned to the group wide governance and control framework, including:
o    Support delivery around the requirements for external Governance Forums (Council, COO ExCo, Group ExCo, Board etc.) and maintenance of all SMR documentation 
o    Support the validation and pre-approval of Vendor Spend Business cases & contract reviews
o    Support the Senior FBP to ensure Finance related Internal audit queries and audit interim reporting are all addressed
o    Provide support activities to allow programme Interlocks (Location, Capacity creation, Workforce & Budget Transfers)

What we’re looking for:

•    Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution 
•    Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator
•    Proven ability to maintain energy and resilience within an organisation throughout a period of change and/or against significant challenges

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    CA / MBA or equivalent qualification
•    Good understanding of financials especially cost and drivers
•    Advance Excel & PowerPoint skills
•    Experience of writing VBA Macro in MS Excel, is preferred
•    Attention to detail and strong organisational skills a must
•    Ability to balance multiple critical requests from various stakeholders with outstanding precision
•    BP&A background and experience
•    Prior experience in managing senior stakeholders independently
•    Strong Communication skills across a variety of forums and mediums.  Proven ability to distil information into key messages and deliver succinctly according to audience
•    Ability to support in developing business strategy, communicate in clear and confident manner, and act independently to implement, sometimes using creativity in approach
•    Awareness of simplification and automation tools like Tableo, Altryx, Python etc. will be a plus
•    Experience in operating in a multi-geographic, matrix organisation a plus, with proven ability to balance commercial, client, and regulatory needs across businesses and geographies
