As a Barclays Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our International/Offshore clients by telephone, email, online banking, and written communications in a confident, professional, and knowledgeable manner at all times. You'll also be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis, to resolve queries and recognize requirements to meet their needs successfully.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality, and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

Colleagues who perform ‘onsite’ roles will spend four or five days a week working onsite, depending on the requirements of their role and business area.  Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager.  Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?
•    Acting with integrity and working with colleagues to create a respectful and motivating environment
•    Looking after your own well-being in the workplace and that of your close colleagues, to contribute towards a culture of care
•    Participating actively in citizenship activity that contributes to the wider Client Services world in which you work
•    Participating fully in team meetings and huddles, being proactive in sharing new ideas of how to improve things for the team and for customers
•    Putting yourself in the customer’s shoes, and comprehending how products and services can help our customers, and how they are appropriate for their needs
•    Using your time efficiently, adhering to personal work patterns and schedules to meet customer demand and ensure you achieve your own objectives
•    Demonstrating a sound level of knowledge of our digital products, to educate your customers to have confidence in using alternative channels
•    Offering a professional, caring, consistent and outstanding level of customer service, whereby an emotional connection with the customer is built

What we’re looking for:
•    Fluency in English and first class written and verbal communication skills are a requirement of the position

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    A minimum of either five GCSEs (including English and Mathematics) or a track record of delivering excellent customer service
•    Excellent level of computer literacy and proficient keyboard skills

Where will you be working?
Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration. A place where everyone can bring their true selves to work and reach their full potential. Home to 5,000 of our colleagues, our Tradeston campus will support the community in more ways than one - by creating thousands of new career opportunities and celebrating local artists. A short walk from Central Station on the south of the Clyde, it will be a key location for the Barclays business that will deepen our ties with the city and its communities.
