WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

Lead, manage and oversee the performance and risk of the ICB business in relation to a portfolio of Large Corporates in Italy, including:

·supporting a profitable performance, growth and future strategy of ICB Italy through leading his/her client portfolio relationship, to be attained working with the various interbal stakeholders (sector heads, product specialists, coverage heads, other geographies and Operations & Infrastructure where applicable).

·focusing on client centric strategy

·supporting cross border investment aligned with ICB strategy.

·actively engaging on the ICB Italy Management Forum, supporting the Head of ICB Italy in delivering the strategy endorsed by the Corporate Bank ExCo

·assuming the role of Lead Treasury Banker, hence senior coverage executive, to drive business and client relationship developments by working closely with Investment Bankers and Markets’ specialists to develop and monetize Large Corporate relationships globally

·being accountable to the Head of ICB Italy for supporting the delivery of the financial and operating performance of the corporate banking franchise, including client satisfaction, risk control, conduct and employee engagement.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The candidate will be accountable for:

·delivering a profitable performance, growth and future strategy for ICB Italy by leading multiple clients across the relevant sectors and working closely with group partners to ensure client strategy is defined and executed in a way which delivers maximum value for Barclays Group and its client base

·assuming the role of Lead Treasury Banker to drive business and client relationship development globally with a focus on the Large Corporate segment and ensuring that a high degree of client dialogue is consistently maintained

·presenting clients’ business case to relevant internal committee, aligning stakeholders and getting approval to proceed with capital deployments upon acceptable relationship returns

·providing visible leadership across ICB Italy and driving high performance across the business.

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR ROLE

Significant experience at senior coverage leadership level in financial services organisation or equivalent with experience on an international scale.

·knowledge of the financial services industry (including history, trends and future development), particularly in Italy

·ability to strengthen the standing of Corporate Banking within financial and wider markets

·establish senior leadership credentials, including leading through change

·providing effective communication skills thus being able to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders

·experience in negotiating with sophisticated counterparties

·analytical skills across multiple sources with the ability to detect complex situations

·comprehensive and broad understanding of the principles of international corporate banking

ADDITIONAL KEY EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·track record and experience of business building with a proven ability to manage complex and relentless change

·knowledge of complex Corporate Banking product suite including wholesale lending, trade and working capital, cash management, FX and other transactional products. Further knowledge in DCM, ECM and RSG are desirable

·broad knowledge of risk management, financial control and accounting policies

·international experience is a prerequisite.

·proven capability to operate as a trusted advisor to the Head of ICB Italy

RISK AND CONTROLS:

·strong knowledge of credit and market risk management, internal control and financial systems with the ability to lead the internal governance and control agenda; and

·effectively manage reputational risks to protect the Barclays and clients’ brand
