As a Barclays US Structured Products Vice President (VP) Attorney, you will be a part of the Equities (Structured Products) Legal team in the Americas, providing legal support to businesses involved in the issuance of structured investments in the Americas and working with senior business personnel across the platforms and asset classes involved in the structured investments business. 

Salary/ Rate Minimum: $250,750
Salary/ Rate Maximum: $310,000

What will you be doing?

•    Working with senior business personnel and related stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Ops, Tax, Risk, etc.) to manage the execution of structured products issuances
•    Engaging in discussions with Sales, Structuring and Trading teams covering the relevant platforms and distribution channels to ensure acting in accordance with the business 
•    Working with an internal execution team and external counsel to efficiently manage the execution of a large volume of transactions in the relevant coverage areas
•    Maintaining program documentation for the coverage areas and ensuring that issuances within programs reflect a consistent approach to disclosure and regulatory issues 
•    Leading negotiation of any legal agreements in the relevant coverage areas (including distribution agreements) through interaction with counterparties and their counsel 
•    Presenting updated on transaction execution metrices and reporting on legal and regulatory developments to the Head of Structured Products Legal, Americas
•    Working with members of the Structured Products Legal team to ensure a consistent approach to disclosure and legal issues affecting the structured investments businesses
•    Holding a deep competence of market and industry practices through ongoing review of issuances by various banks and dialogue with peers at other institutions 

What we’re looking for:

•    Four plus years practicing attorney including experience working with structured investments or other securities offerings at an investment bank
•    Experience at a top tier law firm and knowledge of US securities laws and broker-dealer regulation
•    JD degree or foreign equivalent and be admitted to the bar in New York
•    Organizational skills and attention to detail with written & oral communication skills; must be detail oriented and possess the competence and confidence to address issues head on

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Experience with structured products or other securities offering documentation within the financial services industry or at a law firm
•    Familiarity with common structured products offering documents and related transaction documentation

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
