As a Barclays Relationship Director, Corporate Banking, you will work within the UK Mid Corporate Coverage business area of Corporate Banking. We seek to understand our clients’ objectives, opportunities and challenges, and work and collaborate with them to achieve their business goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a well networked individual to effectively manage, develop and grow a portfolio of customers with a turnover of between £6.5m and £50m through excellent customer service and deepening relationships.

What will you be doing?
• Delivering performance that reflects Barclay’s vision to become the ‘go-to’ bank.  Making the customers' lives easier and achieving great customer outcomes
• Providing Lending solutions of up to £10m for customers, having a clear and documented plan for each of the clients in your portfolio
• Being responsible for demonstrating ownership and initiative, you will effectively prevent, handle, and resolve complaints
• Conducting regular face to face meetings with customers, there should be a clear contact strategy for your portfolio, ensuring clients are seen every 90 days minimum 
• Managing a list of circa 15 businesses in a shadow portfolio, having regular meetings to develop relationships, with the aim of them becoming part of your portfolio
• Interpreting internal information around your marketplace, portfolio, and customers, to make decisions around your contact strategy as well as recommendations 
• Acting with ‘cast iron’ integrity and confidentiality around your local marketplace and the customers with whom you have relationships
• Establishing a network of key business introducers, networking to develop new contacts, develop new leads, delivering “One Barclays” 


What we’re looking for:
• Solid experience of relationship portfolio management for corporate (SME) clients, lending money and knowledge of the lending process for applications up to £10m
• Well networked in the business community in Peterborough and the surrounding areas
• Good knowledge level of income drivers and a track record of delivering income and growth through increased wallet share and business development
• IFS: ACIB, PCertB, Cert BB&C, DipBB&C qualification, or you can demonstrate a desire to commence professional study and work towards completion one of these qualifications 


Skills that will help you in the role:
• Technical knowledge and understanding of lending/ Zeus/ GPT and post sanction fulfilment
• Industry knowledge and understanding of key drivers for business owners, as well as the impact of economic environment on customer’s needs and business
• Client portfolio management experience, coupled with a successful track record of business development and acquiring new customers
• Sound knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures across the Group relevant to Mid Corporate market, up-to-date knowledge of Barclays competition

In the heart of Peterborough, our corporate office is located within our city centre branch and is easily accessible by road and public transport. We are a collaborative team who enjoy the local amenities.
