Hybrid Working 
Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction 
The successful candidate will be a senior member of the Sustainability and ESG team within Finance, reporting to one of the directors within the team.  They will have a portfolio of specific regulations and be expected to provide subject matter expertise, manage stakeholder relationships, and support project work that span the Barclays Group

What will you be doing?
•    Establish the core finance capability to develop and produce critical reports to meet the evolving external and regulatory reporting requirements including the establishment of the appropriate documentation, controls, policies and framework. 
•    External reporting includes delivery of TCFD,  IFRS S1, IFRS S2, TNFD, TPT, CSDR and other frameworks. and well as regulatory requirements 
•    Support BUK, Banking, Markets, Risk, Finance, and Treasury (RFT) teams to implement regulatory requirements (TCFD,  IFRS S1, IFRS S2, TNFD, TPT, CSDR and other frameworks) across the firmwide systems and pro-active monitoring of implementation and escalating material gaps.
•    Support analysis of impacts of rule changes and liaise with impacted businesses/functions to interpret & implement across the firm. Ensure that new technical requirements (TCFD,  IFRS S1, IFRS S2, TNFD, TPT, CSDR and other frameworks)are translated and capable of being implemented. 
•    Producing documentation including impact assessments, regulatory requirements, and associated governance and controls, risk management frameworks, policies and procedures. 
•    Recognised as technical authority by peers, management and internal clients. 


What we’re looking for:
•    Demonstrated interest in understanding and applying Sustainability and ESG – It is not necessary to have fully developed technical knowledge as this will be expanded in-role; however, existing capability and evidence of understanding is required.
•    Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex technical concepts based on regulation.
•    Strong analytical skills and capability for self-directed research and work required to resolve technical regulatory matters. 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in delivering visual materials, and communicating effectively to senior stakeholders including Board Audit Committee, Legal and Technical Committee, and Disclosure Committee.
•    Excellent interpersonal, influencing and team working skills, with the capability to build and sustain effective working relationships (including at senior levels of the organisational infrastructure) and to drive technically robust outcomes, whilst still promoting strategic/commercial objectives of the business.
•    Ability to work in a pressured environment and cope with the demands of making material recommendations, often with imperfect information and subject to review/challenge.
•    It is fully expected that anyone joining Sustainability and ESG will require some time to develop the necessary higher levels of technical expertise than that required for other Finance roles. 
•    Qualified accountant or strong finance / accounting background and / or MBA


Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience with governance and risk management frameworks, systems, and controls for regulation
•    Understanding of project methodologies and their application within the organisation’s project methodology with exposure in working in medium to large scale change initiatives
•    Relevant experience required
