Assistant Vice President - Whole Loan Trading 
New York

This role is regulated by FINRA.

As a Barclays Assistant Vice President in Whole Loan Trading, you will be supporting the US Residential Whole Loan Trading desk in their daily trading and risk management roles, calculating P&L and daily pricing, as well as portfolio analysis, surveillance, and other various projects. This is an opportunity to work alongside infrastructure partners from middle office, credit risk to product control in supporting activities related to trading book ranging from trading booking and settlement issues through to stress loss simulations.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $125,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $170,000

What will you be doing?

•    Supporting the trading desk with deal lifecycle activities related to US Residential mortgages from bid, acquisition, disposition and securitization
•    Working with market and credit risk on simulation of stress loss parameters related to the book
•    Running forecasting, structuring and arbitrage analytics to compare against securitized deal execution
•    Managing the calculation of daily P&L, risk exposures, hedges and various other market driven metrics
•    Assisting in the marking of the WLT desk positions and working with infrastructure partners to maintain a good control environment
•    Optimizing the day-to-day oversight of the liability side/funding equation of the trading book [$3B+ balance sheet]
•    Automating risk management processes through the use of VBA, Python and Tableau in order to ensure a more efficient control environment 
•    Collaborating on the enhancement of internal infrastructure and framework, including automation of processes and collaboration with various groups within Barclays

What we’re looking for:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics and three to five years’ experience in financial services 
•    Must demonstrate an interest in real estate with experience or relevant coursework considered a positive
•    Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills
•    Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing trading and policy environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Good data analytical skills and proficient across Python or SQL
•    Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, Intex Dealmaker
•    Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and high pressure environment
•    Good verbal and written communication skills to drive franchise business, collaborating with Sales and Research

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
