Senior Fraud Strategy Manager

As a Barclays Senior Fraud Strategy Manager, you will be joining the Fraud Strategy group to drive sound risk management, policy and controls management, and ensure a smooth customer experience for Deposits and Credit card products. This is an opportunity to focus on the prevention, detection, recovery, and resolution of risks emanating from payments and money movement. This role provides direct insights that help drive the strategic direction of the bank by communicating current loss trends and working with business partners.

What will you be doing?

•    Preventing fraudsters from opening/transacting on Deposits (Savings/Checking) products using their own or stolen identities/credentials
•    Owning the management of fraud rules, scores, and detection strategies and work closely with fraud operations team for the purpose of resolving gaps and operational optimization
•    Being responsible for delivering tangible business benefit and value (e.g. loss avoidance, expense optimization, enhanced customer experience)
•    Ensuring proper risk controls and monitors are deployed adhering to group standards
•    Defining and directing the strategic initiatives for Deposits product
•    Conducting defect reviews of high fraud losses cases to identify any gaps in Fraud strategy, case management, or make procedural adjustments
•    Collaborating with Fraud Analytics to identify and help plug the gaps based on data driven decisions

What we’re looking for:

•    Proven experience in financial crime related fields- Anti Money Laundering (AML), Identity Fraud for products like Deposits/Savings/ CDs/ Checking/ Payments
•    Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline like Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research or Analytics
•    Hands-on experience with data analytics in SAS/SQL (or similar) with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information
•    Demonstrated knowledge of laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and rules impacting the financial services industry, for example: Reg CC, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg Z, E-Sign, FCRA, FDIC

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Proficiency in working effectively both independently and collaboratively or as part of a team
•    Experience of fraud risk management (Identity Fraud, First Party Fraud, Account Take Over risk) for credit card product
•    Knowledge and understanding of Data Science (Hadoop/Big Data/Machine Learning) is preferred
•    Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
