US Macro Legal Advisory Attorney

As a Barclays US Macro Legal Advisory Attorney, you will be accountable for supporting Barclays International’s Markets business on all legal and regulatory matters related to fixed-income trading, primarily covering the Macros Markets businesses and the Risk Solutions Group Americas (RSG). The RSG is a hybrid group that bridges investment banking and Macro trading and with assisting with coverage of Credit and Emerging Markets. You will be managing legal risk throughout Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. 

Salary/ Rate Minimum: $250,750
Salary/ Rate Maximum: $310,000

What will you be doing?

•    Working closely with colleagues in Legal Advisory and senior stakeholders in Macro and RSG Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Business Management 
•    Developing subject-matter expertise across a full range of fixed-income products
•    Identifying issues and coordinating decision-making in connection with the structuring of transactions and resolution of attendant issues
•    Acting as a point of contact to resolve and as appropriate, to escalate legal and regulatory issues
•    Participating in Barclays’ internal business approval processes and risk and governance committees
•    Coordinating with the other regional Macro and RSG Legal Advisory and Compliance professionals to ensure consistent and comprehensive coverage of legal and regulatory issues
•    Facilitating and sharing of legal expertise and know-how to promote efficient legal coverage and staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments that affect Macro and RSG
•    Taking a leading role on various legal and regulatory matters 

What we’re looking for:

•    Bachelor’s degree
•    Juris Doctorate
•    Admission to the New York Bar
•    Experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department at an investment bank

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Counsel should possess written and verbal communication skills in order to convey key legal concepts and regulatory and internal policy requirements to Macro and RSG
•     Should demonstrate interpersonal skills to facilitate positive colleague and client relationships and to ensure collaboration and respect amount colleagues
•    Counsel should be motivated and have the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and to advise stakeholders quickly and precisely on legal risks
•    Counsel should act with integrity and professionalism at all times, consistent with Barclays’ Core Values

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
