Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced DevOps Engineer who is proficient in a range of tools including GitLab, Jenkins, BitBucket, and Jira. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) pipelines, Monitoring and Observation strategy, and have strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Design, set up, and manage CI / CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket.
Work closely with software development teams to integrate code changes, manage repositories, and streamline the development process.
Utilize Jira for project tracking, issue tracking, and agile project management.
Ensure continuous improvement for automation processes for software build and deployment.
Monitor system performance and implement strategies for reliability and scalability.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to DevOps practices, tools, and configurations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test, and production environments.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Skillset:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Jira.
Proven experience in CI / CD pipelines setup and management.
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Bash and Python.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like AppDynamics, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

This role is based in Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
