Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:      
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

Leadership of Centre of Excellence that provides independent controls testing for various disciplines across risk (Project Arthur), requiring the input and collaboration of a large set of senior stakeholders within Risk and across the Bank.


What will you be doing?

•    Execute the controls testing plans for the relevant risks across the legal entities to help the Vertical & Horizontal Heads to meet the mandatory RCSA & Regulatory requirements.  
•    Comply with the Risk and Control Assessment (RCSA) process ensuring these provide an effective approach to controls testing within 2LOD Risk remit.
•    Ensure compliance to the testing methodology that is baselined & implemented in line with all relevant standards i.e., Control Assurance and Controls Testing Standard, Issue Management Standard and Risk and Issue Classification Matrix Standard. 
•    Execution of controls testing across principal risks & across legal entities to meet regulatory requirements.
•    Ensure agreed KPI’s for controls testing are adhered to. 
•    Ensuring on track delivery of the controls testing plans and provide regular updates including but not limited to the progress against the plan, key issues in the control environment etc. to various Governance & Control forums via MIS produced on a periodic basis. 
•    Support data science and analytics opportunities that were identified during controls testing and effectively communicate the same to respective stakeholders.
•    Support strategic and regulatory initiatives that are linked to management deliverables by effectively supporting in executing testing, ensuring principal requirements are met /monitored existing plans, effective stakeholder comms, etc.
•    Demonstrate a mind-set of delivering error free outputs (including but not limited to) control test reports, MIS, action closure templates, incremental testing outputs etc. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of controls tested, issues, actions, and recommendations.
•    Represent the Second Line for Control Testing function across the other Lines of Défense and promote a strong control testing culture.
•    Work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, to achieve the best outcomes and quality of service.
•    Demonstrate inclusive and supportive behaviours in line with the Purpose, Values and Mind-set to enable business performance.


What we’re looking for:

•    Graduate Degree or equivalent
•    Proven experience in Risk/Audit/Internal Controls
•    Expertise across Microsoft applications i.e., Excel, Excel macros

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Knowledge of data storage, retrieval, and manipulation tools, such as SQL 
•    Some familiarity with Python and/or cloud concepts and Tableau
•    Able to work independently and as part of a team, including within global and virtual teams.
•    Proven experience of Controls Testing in any Risk Discipline and Team Management
•    Able to take initiative, apply sound judgement and problem solve within a fast-paced, changing environment.
•    Able to identify critical, high priority activities and adjust priorities for self and others. 
•    Confident and articulate with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trust.
•    Good control and service delivery mind-set, with a strong understanding of the importance of creating and maintaining a robust governance and control environment.
•    Line management experience for managing others.

•    Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Python etc.
