Colleague Experience Generalist, 12 month FTC

Tokyo

As a Barclays Colleague Experience Generalist in HR, you will be operating as “HR Generalist” to support many HR activities in Japan on a 12-month contract. You will have an exciting chance to be a part of the Japan D&A team that supports a diverse client group across BBPLC and BX, and work closely with HR specialist teams, business managers on talent acquisition and management, training and development, compensation, employee relation matters. You will also support areas like HR Ops, Talent Acquisition, to deliver “one Colleague experience” to Japan clients, colleagues.

What will you be doing?

  • Working with Regional and Global HR teams for execution on various HR matters including but not limited various Government reporting submission including Stamping process
  • Administrating timesheet system, including over time management such as excessive overtime management, warnings to Line Managers, colleagues
  • Leading monthly HR updates materials edit to country management team
  • Ensuring the HR service is compliant with the local law, regulatory requirement and compliance as needed
  • Advising on various types of leave (maternity, childcare, sickness etc) and tracking Leave of Absence status and liaise to APAC HR Ops/ APAC Payroll team
  • Other ad hoc HR related duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • Native Japanese and Business level English is a must
  • Good track record in working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, excellent influencing, communication, and negotiation skills with outstanding integrity
  • Ability to work fast, accurately and understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Proven experience with MS office tools (Word/Excel/PPT)

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred
  • Previous experience in aforeign multi-national firm in Japan irrespective of the industry type within HR is a big plus
  • Knowledge of Employment Laws, tax and pay structures in Japan is welcomed and is a big plus, too

Our office is located in the Roppongi Hills building complex, one of the largest property developments in Japan, with modern and secure offices. The surroundings are known to be highly commercial, with restaurants, shops, gyms, and places to relax.
