Financial Crime Risk Transaction Monitoring Product Owner 
London

As a Barclays Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring Product Owner, you will champion the Surveillance TM Program by providing SME specialist guidance and analytical support, working with Financial Crime colleagues to support the development, implementation and optimisation of automated Surveillance TM solutions. In this role, you will support and develop a team, augmenting individual capabilities to enhance all in scope Surveillance TM systems and ensure they are effectively delivered, managed and optimised.

What will you be doing?

•    Supporting the development of the Model Risk Methodology framework to ensure that it fulfils the requirements of the Internal Model Validation team and the wider TM function 
•    Working with colleagues to support the development, implementation and optimisation of Global TM solutions and capabilities
•    Supporting innovation within the field of TM, and data analytics, taking inspiration from pioneering teams within Barclays, leading peer institutions, to enhance TM capabilities 
•    Engaging with product owners, compliance analytics and Quant analytics team to identify and explore modelling, Machine Learning etc. to enhance TM monitoring capability 
•    Comprehending, impact assessing, and communicating the risk management priorities that have a dependency on TM FC controls and their effectiveness to the relevant stakeholders 
•    Engaging with key Business, Operational, Technology and Financial Crime stakeholders across the lines of defence to understand key priorities for the bank 
•    Working with colleagues to support the development, implementation and optimisation of Global Surveillance TM solutions and capabilities
•    Working closely with consumers of Financial Crime/Surveillance TM data to ensure capabilities and limitations are understood correctly 

What we’re looking for:

•    Proven SME expert level record in implementing, optimising and tuning TM systems or similar financial crime controls
•    Experience of a Regulated Business Environment with exposure to governance, control and risk management - ensuring action and escalation governance procedures are adhered to
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a solid record of building relationships and engaging across a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
•    Experience of leading a team of risk management minded SMEs with technical ability – motivating, coaching and developing team members to higher levels of performance 


Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Experience in utilising analytical tools for data exploration, analysis and visualisation 
•    Expert coding ability and experience (preferably several) of; SQL, Scala, Spark, Python etc
•    Some experience in development of data visualisations/dashboards (preferably Tableau)
•    Financial Crime, Market Surveillance, AML and TM/detection and the systems/processes, including an understanding of AML and terrorist financing trends and typologies

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
