Vice President, Retail Credit Strategy

As a Barclays, Vice President, Retail Credit Strategy, you will be responsible for driving the development of risk management strategies to support retail card portfolios. You will have opportunity to guide a team of up to two risk analysts to manage account origination strategies and policies that drive sustainable business growth within Risk Appetite. You will be responsible for interaction with stakeholders across the organization including Marketing, Segment, 2LOD, Finance, Technology, etc. to ensure timely completion of initiatives.

What will you be doing?

•    Directing/ conducting analytical exercises to improve existing business strategies including new account underwriting, credit line assignment and pricing strategies
•    Driving the development of product and channel specific acquisition strategies to optimize profitability of the BCUS portfolio 
•    Innovating through enhanced underwriting and credit line strategies using alternative data sources and scores
•    Being responsible for synthesizing complex analytical/business issues and communicate clearly and concisely with various stakeholders
•    Enhancing Judgmental Lending strategies to increase operational efficiency and the profitability of Judgmental Review
•    Supporting the implementation of acquisition strategy changes in the decision engine and setting up a robust validation process to ensure minimal gaps in the execution of changes
•    Driving growth and profit by wisely investing credit risk taking and position the business to endure credit stress through economic challenges
•    Being responsible for setting up a robust monitoring process to assess acquisition risk performance and communicate trends to various stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

•    Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a quantitative discipline 
•    Extensive years of experience in an Analytical role 
•    Experience with SAS/SQL or other relevant statistical tools; proficiency with analytical software e.g. SAS, SQL, Unix platforms, Knowledge Seeker, and MS Office is required
•    Solid communication skills & ability to work independently; attention to detail; ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Masters or PhD in a quantitative discipline is preferred, but not required; credit card experience, preferably in acquisitions
•    Solid analytical, technical and statistical skills with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information
•    Extensive years of experience in Credit Strategy Development and some years of management experience
•    Experience with SQL server , Hadoop & Oracle data sources and other big data tools
