Senior Data Privacy Manager 
Glasgow

As a Barclays Senior Data Privacy Manager, you will be responsible for providing senior Data Privacy advisory support across the Chief Operating Office & Functions, serving as a Senior Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert, leading a team of Data Privacy Advisors supporting Barclays Business’ and accountable Business Senior Managers. Moreover, you will be providing input into, as appropriate, conformance, assurance, and reviews from the perspective of Data Privacy within the Businesses, such as verification checks or monitoring reviews.

What will you be doing? 

•    Serving as a Senior Data Privacy SME (Subject Matter Expert), leading a team of Data Privacy Advisors supporting Barclays Business’ and accountable Business Senior Managers
•    Taking responsibility for acting as escalation point for complex privacy queries and lead a team of Data Privacy SMEs
•    Being responsible for building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships and work closely with the Head of BX Data Privacy and Data Privacy leads in each Business vertical
•    Driving the development of training to upskill DP functional leads in verticals, to upskill the wider BX population ensuring awareness of data privacy issues, themes, and risks 
•    Responding to ad hoc and critical Data Privacy control and governance requests and working on projects and initiatives to ensure that an appropriate control lens is provided
•    Providing input into or measure conformance, assurance, and reviews from the perspective of Data Privacy, such as verification checks or monitoring reviews


What we’re looking for: 

•    Proven experience of advising and/or managing Data Privacy issues
•    Excellent technical and regulatory knowledge in the areas of Data Privacy
•    Ability to operate in a fast-moving business environment and make decisions bearing in mind business objectives and commercial requirements
•    Previous experience with conformance testing, reviews, and assurance

Skills that will help you in the role 

•    Certifications in one or more of the following disciplines: data privacy, legal, compliance information risk or information technology would be useful
•    Professional Privacy Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (e.g., CIPP /E) or equivalent is preferred
