Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Inflation Trader in New York, NY (multiple positions available):
- Manage trading book risks, hedging client flow and trading as principal.
- Lead longer term projects aimed to improve the desk’s ability to effectively manage risk and be profitable.
- Work with global teams to develop new tools, curve engines, risk metrics etc.
- Serve as a market maker in TIPS (Treasury Inflation Protected Securities) and US Inflation linked derivatives for institutional investors, hedge funds, corporates and central bank clients.
- Partner with Operations, technology, QA and other internal partners to enhance the offering and improve risk management and decision processes.
- Provide market color to sales and clients, and ensure operational efficiency of desk day-to-day processes.
- Develop and manage relationships with clients, counterparties, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Sales to develop tailored trading ideas for clients
- Partner with Distribution and Research to generate revenue and expand the client base.
- Work with infrastructure and control teams to improve control framework.
- May telecommute.
Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $226,762 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $250,000 per year

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.
Purpose of the role
To buy and sell financial instruments, such as bonds, stocks, and derivatives, to generate revenue for the bank by the analysis of market conditions, execution of trades, and management of risk.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of trading strategies that align with the bank's risk appetite, investment objectives, and market conditions, and monitoring of market movements to adjust trading strategies accordingly.
- Execution of trades on behalf of the bank, or proprietary trading desks, while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
- Maintenance of accurate and timely trading records, prepare daily and monthly trading reports, and contribute to the evaluation of the overall trading strategy.
- Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
- Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio, including setting and maintaining stop-loss limits and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
- Raise unsecured funding in the International Money Market.
- Execution of Structural Hedges for hedging IRRBB.

- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
- Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
