As a Barclays Quantitative Developer (Front Office Platform), you will be working in the Front Office Platform team which is a joint venture between QA Strategic Projects and the Statistical Modelling & Development (SM&D) team. You will focus on driving adoption of the Dart platform across the QA Markets organization and will be involved in onboarding QA Markets teams to Dart, working on adding support to Dart for data sources required and on specific projects to build out more complex applications in partnership with QA Markets teams.

What will you be doing?
•    Working with teams in the QA Markets organization to accelerate adoption of Dart in those teams
•    Assisting with the onboarding and ongoing support of Flix applications within Dart
•    Designing micro services for accessing data, pricing and analytics
•    Designing front end micro services for UI applications
•    Designing re-usable components/libraries for both front and back ends – part of the Dart platform development process
•    Helping in the evolution of the Dart platform with new tools, libraries etc
•    Taking ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do

What we’re looking for:
•    Solid software development experience in python is essential
•    Data engineering and data orchestration experience with python and its associated libraries – pandas, numpy, dagster
•    Experience designing data or analytics micro services using python FastAPI 
•    Experience of building production quality infrastructure

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience in front-end web development (ReactJS, Javascript/Typescript, HTML, CSS), designing micro services (ReactJS, node.js
•    Software engineering experience with parallel and distributed computing python libraries – dask, ray
•    Experience of cloud technologies is desirable (docker, kubernetes, AWS, elastic compute)
•    Solid grasp of Software development lifecycle, experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, and familiarity with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD

Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague.  We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing.
