Financial Crime Risk Manager Private Banking Wealth Management

As a Barclays Financial Crime Risk Manager Private Banking Wealth Management, you will be leading and managing financial crime risk for the Private Banking Wealth Management business. You will assist the business through Subject Matter Expert (SME) engagement and oversight of financial crime related processes, operating financial crime governance, ensuring process alignment to Group standards, and providing financial crime risk guidance on client appetite.

What will you be doing?

  • Assisting with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Financial Crime control environment of PBWM
  • Targeting Money Laundering, Bribery & Corruption, Tax Evasion Facilitation and Sanctions risk to manage the Financial Crime risk to the business
  • Working with Financial Crime Business Oversight Compliance, BX Shared Services, wider internal & external stakeholders to ensure PBWM is fully compliant with policies
  • Providing 1st Line Business representation in Asia, working with local business and support teams to ensure alignment with global on managing the FC control environment
  • Covering Anti-money laundering risks (AML), Anti-Tax Evasion Facilitation risks (ATEF), Anti Bribery & Corruption risks (ABC), Sanctions risk (SAN) and Know Your Client (KYC)
  • Covering Financial Crime Risk Appetite and Financial Crime Risk Methodology (FCRM), Financial Crime investigations and Financial Crime Exits and Key Risk Indicators reporting
  • Maintaining oversight and governance of High risk and PEP client’s reviews, maintenance of Financial Crime procedures including On-boarding and On-going Review Standards
  • Managing Risk dispensations and approvals related to Financial Crime matter and involvement with Project Jeremiah – Barclays Financial Crime transformation programme

What we’re looking for:

  • Expert knowledge and experience of Financial Crime regulation and applicable/relevant rules, policies and standards.
  • Highly motivated self-starter as well as a good team player ideally with the ability to communicate multilingually given stakeholder engagement
  • Experience of working in a risk/control, quality control or audit environment including working with and interpreting risk, compliance and operational procedures
  • Good work ethic and a desire to drive improvements in the business to strengthen the Financial Crime control environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience of working in Asia, and the Asian market, would be highly desirable particularly if that has involved financial crime or risk/control
  • Experience of engaging multiple stakeholders and being able to prioritise and manage competing pieces of work without impacting wider delivery timelines
  • Ability to influence teams outside of direct reports and summarise complex problems and present solutions to senior management in a clear, concise and impactful manner
  • Working knowledge of Private Bank and/or Wealth Management businesses
