Risk Assessment Unit Senior Manager

As a Barclays Risk Assessment Unit Senior Manager, you will perform responsibilities associated with Markets Risk Assessment for new and existing clients. As the role holder, you will be accountable for the performance and achievement of quality standards and caseload completion in challenging timelines including informing and influencing senior stakeholders in relation to case risk reviews, process exceptions, and regulatory breaches.

What will you be doing?

•    Performing Risk Assessment of new and existing clients where clarity regarding Procedures and / or Standards is required
•    Making risk based assessments of client information considering commercial and regulatory factors
•    Representing Barclays at a senior committee level and, during difficult conversations, exerting influence over leaders at Barclays
•    Requesting and scrutinizing sensitive client information, whilst balancing the need for a positive client experience
•    Liaising directly with Senior Stakeholders and committees as necessary
•    Ensuring Coverage stakeholders understand and acknowledge the strategy for KYC and Risk Assessment; Driving team members to own RAU design and process improvement
•    Communicating case quality and completion progress in various formats to senior stakeholders and detail/negotiate remedial actions that may be required 
•    Managing complex situations and/or escalations, engaging relationship teams for resolution and show diplomacy

What we’re looking for:

•    Proven experience conducting risk based AML / Financial Crime assessments
•    Detailed grasp of Banking Industry - key providers, client groups and products, especially focused on AML/KYC processes and impact for clients and colleagues
•    Comprehensive business knowledge - in order to comprehend the markets in which the relationship teams’ customers operate and the business issues they are likely to face
•    A proven leader with the ability to build and manage teams

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Background in Financial Crime / Compliance Risk area
•    Self-motivated, with an ability to focus on client-driven solutions, strategy setting and decision making
•    Enquiring and determined with the ability to drive a culture of questioning and probing within the team
•    Being a team player and relationship builder, with a solid ability to collaborate and effect positive change

Where will you be working?

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and it is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
