Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction 
•    This AVP role will support and manage the team to develop and maintain the projects for the provision of information to clients. The role will focus on the provision, checking and cleaning of data and undertaking regular and ad-hoc analysis. 
•    The role requires the candidate to have extreme good knowledge on Data Statergy and require SQL skills to work on the tools like Teradata, HUE and reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects)
•    The role requires the candidate to Understand concepts of Data Analytics, Hadoop architecture and tune/performance analyse on data accordingly.
•    The role requires the candidate to contribute in end-to-end architecture and process flow and to troubleshoot any data/SQL related problem/error
•    The role involves development of MI queries, fetching data, creating scripts in Teradata. Scheduling in TWS/Unix/ Linux.
•    To assist other areas in ensuring that the framework meets formal planning, regulatory, or other reporting requirements. 
•    To participate in Testing and automation activities. 
•    To document all data processes and ensure that all working practices have been audited and signed off.
•    Clearly communicate results of complex analysis and models to technical and non-technical audience

What will you be doing?
o    Requirements Gathering
    Working with business areas to obtain/clarify detailed requirements for the projects
o    Design , Development and Testing
    Designing solutions from requirements and design specifications using agreed standards and tools, achieving well-engineered results which follows the agreed implementation level software architectures.
    Creating and amending the process in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards.
    Taking responsibility for the design, coding, testing and documentation of particularly large, complex or mission critical reporting projects.
    Planning, designing and conducting tests of reporting, correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error-free product.
    Proposing options to meet business area requirements and prepare cost/benefit for the business area to evaluate. 
    Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards and with re-use in mind.
    Conducting reviews of supplied specifications, with others as necessary.
    Taking part in reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues’ work.
    Completing assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. This includes a combination of performing operational support tasks to agreed service standards and supporting enhancements or other technical projects.
o    Delivery Planning
    Developing plans to ensure delivery of  work.
    Assisting with the creation, monitoring and reporting of progress against plans and identifying corrective action where necessary.
o    Leading Others
    Responsible for supervising, co-ordinating, participating in, and is accountable for, the work of the team.
    Making effective use of resources during the various stages of the work, ensuring that business objectives are met and deliverables achieved to agreed time, cost and quality.
    Putting in place mechanisms and procedures for the structured review of work produced and ensuring that these are adhered to.
    Establishing and maintaining agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken and ensuring that these, and other mandatory standards and architectures, are adhered to.
    Providing guidance and assistance to colleagues in any aspect of report design, creation, testing and documentation.
    Providing expert advice in some or all aspects of the reporting methods, tools and/or standards used 
o    Essential
    Skills in a relevant programming language(s), relevant IDE(s), and relevant design techniques.
    A willingness to develop additional skills in order to enable more flexible working within the organisation.
    Ability to plan and control own work and the work of others.
    Effective written and oral communication.
    A logical, analytical approach to problem solving and close attention to detail.

What we’re looking for:
o    Min. 5 years experience in Datawarehousing projects 
o    Hands-on experience in Ab Initio
o    Hands-on experience in relational databases like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server and PL/SQL
o    Experience in ETL development – good knowledge in UNIX scripting

Skills that will help you in the role:
o    Extremely strong numeric and analytical skills. 
o    Experience of Barclays systems, data, products and processes
o    Experience in BI tools , data modelling
o    Expertise in Reporting tools like Qlikview, Actuate
o    Experience in other A>I products like MHUB, Express IT, Control Center, Query IT (added advantage)
