Senior Cyber Fraud Channel Engineer

As a Barclays Senior Cyber Fraud Channel Engineer, you will have an opportunity to work within the Cyber Security Office, help to protect Barclays’ clients and customers from existing and new cybercrime or cyber-enabled fraud attacks. You will be responsible for the monitoring, alerting, reporting and analysis of emerging cybercriminal tactics, tools and procedures in order to improve overall security.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the leadership team in the continual enhancement and expansion of the security service across the global bank
• Assisting with the monitoring of digital channels to detect cybercrime attacks, by using internally developed systems and industry-wide device profiling
• Being responsible liaising with R&D and engineers in building, integrating, and deploying Cloud infrastructure and applications, complex data ingestion and automation solutions 
• Managing the coordination and implementation of technical development requirements across various technology teams across the Bank
• Liaising with the architecture and security operations functions for impacted/proposed services to ensure security, risk and regulatory requirements are met
• Supporting the development team’s code reviews, engineering best practices, and unblock challenges to enable team success

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience of using delivering at solutions at scale for both public and private cloud i.e. For Public: AWS/Azure services |For Private: Openshift/Kubernetes
• Previous experience in programming: Python, PHP, JS, Java (Advantage), Good understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Teradata
• Knowledge of Operating Systems and Network fundamentals: Linux/Unix (RHEL), Windows, TCP/IP
• People management skills and record of successful delivery within a highly distributed team with an ability to review design patterns and provide best practices

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Direct experience working within cyber security and/or fraud technology teams
• Knowledge of Enterprise security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Cyber-attack phases (e.g. Cyber Kill Chain and/or Mitre Att&ck Framework)
• Knowledge of security network architectures (e.g. Proxies, VPN, DNS, web and mail servers) and the principles of network security
• Previous experience of using analytical tools and platforms such as SQL/SAS/Hue/Hive Basic, Quantexa, Palantir, Maltego, Elastic Search, SAS and MI tools like Tableau

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops
