Risk and Control Manager
Knutsford or Glasgow

As a Barclays Risk and Control Manager, you will partner with TC01 Technology teams to adhere to group ERMF and risk processes, helping to navigate Barclays risk processes and procedures. You will be a central point of engagement for all risk and control activity impacting the technology organisation supporting this Transaction Cycle. This is also an opportunity to ensure that all risk and control compliance positions and deliverables are managed in line with prevailing policies, standards and commitments.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?

•    Leading as a Risk SME, helping determine, document and classify risk appropriately, and ensuring Vertical and Horizontal owners are engaged appropriately
•    Working with the TC01 Risk and Governance team to ensure non-compliances to the Group Standards are managed appropriately
•    Looking to develop the MCA for TC01 as new technology is built out, ensuring effective process is in place to inform the TC Leadership Team of the overall compliance position
•    Working in partnership with the Tech Chief Controls Office, Chief Information Security Office and Chief Technology Office to manage and track all deliverables
•    Leading as a main point of contact for open Risk Management in TC01, and from other areas of the Group e.g. second line compliance
•    Working in partnership with the team and risk partners to ensure all required mitigating control evidence is documented and presented appropriately for review and sign off
•    Escalating in a timely and appropriate manner where open risk is off track, as per Groups mandated timelines and processes where applicable
•    Working with technology and risk partners to review all open risk and audits, ensuing that solutions are designed effectively and evidence is sufficient to close out an issue

What we’re looking for

•    Solid knowledge of Operational Risk & Control and/or audit in a highly regulated business environment
•    Knowledge of internal controls, including the development and maintenance of appropriate framework
•    Solid grasp  of risk assessment, risk treatment and risk remediation, including Risk Issue Classification Matrix (RICM)
•    Working knowledge of technology and/or cyber/information control standards

Skills that will help you in the role

•    Previous experience in an environment that has enabled you to gain a broad understanding of technology compliance
•    To have, or the ability to develop, a wide understanding of Financial Crime regulations and policies (AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption), or similar regulations

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
